The Parliament of Singapore passed proposed amendments to the Personal Data Protection Act. The amendments grant enhanced enforcement authority to Singapore's Personal Data Protection Commission, install new penalties for noncompliance with the law, give citizens new data subject rights, and offer greater clarity on the use of personal data in order to foster innovation.
