U.S. Senate lawmakers proposed a bipartisan bill to regulate contact tracing apps, The Washington Post reports. The Exposure Notification Privacy Act would ensure those who do not want to use the apps are not tracked and prohibit any data that is collected by the apps to be used for commercial purposes. “The important thing we wanted to get done, as people started to look at this, is make sure the privacy protections are in place,” said Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash.
