Rohit Chopra, who served as a commissioner on the Federal Trade Commission, has been confirmed as the next director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau following a Senate vote, The Washington Post reports. In confirmation hearings, Chopra said he would look closely at banks’ data-collection practices and seek to enforce ways banks may use online behavioral advertising to manipulate consumers.
