A phishing attack in late July and early August resulted in unauthorized access to the Scouts Victoria email system, compromising significant data, ZDNet reports. The organization said affected data could include names, emails, addresses, passport numbers and copies of handwritten signatures. Bank account information may have also been exposed. A Scouts Victoria spokesperson said “a number of individuals” associated with the group were impacted, but data directly pertaining to minors was not accessed.
