A recently published white paper revealed ethical concerns, including some regarding privacy, about the potential of employing artificial intelligence into surgical procedures, VentureBeat reports. Co-authors from the Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence and University of Toronto's Department of Computer Science said various regulations and laws to protect patients are limited by jurisdictional interpretations and incomplete ethics models, which both lead to a perceived lack of safeguards against AI decision making.
