A report by Open Institute calls for the hiring of data specialists in Kenya to ensure county governments remain in compliance with data protection regulations, The Star reports. Once data protection officers are hired, the report said counties could work with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner to “develop tailor-made training and certification programs.” It also calls for financial resources to ensure the ODPC is able to operate within offices in counties.
