Vice President for Values and Transparency Věra Jourová and Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders called the GDPR "a decisive step in shaping the digital transition in the EU" that "strengthened and harmonised a fundamental right to data protection."
• Ireland's Data Protection Commission reflected on the GDPR's anniversary with a podcast focused on children's data protection under the regulation. Data Protection Commissioner Helen Dixon also told members of European Parliament this year will further demonstrate effective GDPR enforcement, characterizing an "even bigger year" ahead for enforcement "on (the) foot of DPC large scale investigations," TechCrunch reports.
