Euractiv reports the European Commission fears the data of its citizens will not be safe when transferred to a post-Brexit U.K. As it continues its adequacy assessment of the U.K., the commission sees a possibility for an easing of the U.K. data protection regime that may not allow for EU data to be transferred between the bloc and U.K. The commission plans to adopt a position on adequacy before the end of the transition period Dec. 31. Editor's note: A recent op-ed argued that not granting the U.K. adequacy would be a mistake.
