ZDNet reports Australian Information Commissioner Angelene Falk urged caution over Big Tech companies' potential use of the Consumer Data Right system. Testifying before the Senate Select Committee on Financial Technology and Regulatory Technology, Falk said her concerns focus on "the insights that could be derived" from CDR-provided access and combined with existing data troves. Falk acknowledged no Big Tech companies are currently approved for the CDR system but proposed considerations for rules against data access or use by certain companies.
