Over the course of his 40-plus year career in information privacy and consumer policy, Martin Abrams has had his hands in a number of initiatives, from co-founding the Centre for Information Policy Leadership to his part helping develop the APEC Cross-Border Privacy Rules to founding the Information Accountability Foundation. He recently announced he is retiring from his full-time role at the IAF. IAPP Editorial Director Jedidiah Bracy caught up with Abrams to look back on his career, the lessons he's learned, the changes he's seen in information policy and where he thinks data policy and regulation are heading.
