The Biometrics Institute announced a half-day workshop May 24 designed to clarify how to implement a privacy impact assessment. The institute, whose mission is to promote the responsible and ethical use of biometric and biometric analytics, created a PIA model template in consultation with privacy professionals and biometric experts in hopes of helping organizations structure their privacy policies and practices. Senior officers, those who deal with privacy matters, and technical persons who have a role in the planning, roll-out and management of a biometric-based business system are encouraged to attend. The workshop will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Sydney.
