Salinger Privacy Principal Anna Johnston, CIPP/E, CIPM, FIP, wrote a blog on the surprises she observed while analyzing the Australia Attorney-General Department's final report on the 116 proposed Privacy Act reforms. Johnston discussed how the proposals "could undermine the neutrality and flexibility" the existing framework holds while noting potential issues with proposed definition changes, complex alterations to business obligations, and general exemptions.
