Canada’s proposed legislation Bill C-27 could further systemic discrimination toward historically marginalized populations, Not In My Colour founder Erica Ifill writes for The Globe and Mail. Ifill argued one of the tailing bills as part of the larger package, the Artificial Intelligence and Data Act, individualizes the harm to persons so much, it waters down enforcement when entire marginalized groups are affected because AI systems are prone to reinforce pre-existing systemic inequalities.
