The town of Callander updated its camera surveillance policies to comply with Ontario’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the Toronto Star reports. Fire Chief Todd Daley said the policy will ensure video surveillance “is for the purpose of safety and security” while “protecting the privacy of individuals.” The policy also adopted guidelines from the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario.
