The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner released guidelines for organizations to protect privacy under the Consumer Data Right system. The CDR system will first be implemented in the banking sector in July. Australian Information and Privacy Commissioner Angelene Falk said the guidelines are designed to help organizations participating in the system understand their privacy obligations. “They build on Australia’s existing privacy framework and provide detailed guidance for businesses handling consumers’ data in the new system to ensure it is protected,” Falk said.
