- The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner launched an investigation into the Medibank data breach. The OAIC said its investigation could result in civil penalties of up to AU$2.2 million for each violation of Australian privacy law.
- Hackers who breached Medibank's database published six zipped files of customer data on the dark web, claiming the files contain all the data they have on the 9.7 million impacted customers, ZDNet reports. Medibank said it is analyzing the data but noted the files appear to contain "customer information compromised in the breach."
