New Zealand's Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment banned staff from using artificial intelligence technologies over data and privacy concerns, RNZ reports. A spokesperson for the Government Chief Digital Officer in the Department of Internal Affairs said government guidance for agencies is expected soon. Simply Privacy Principal Consultant Frith Tweedie said guidance is needed and it is not "unreasonable to pause while you are working that out."
