New Zealand's Human Rights Review Tribunal ruled against retailer Naturalwear for alleged improper targeted advertising using sensitive data belonging to breast cancer survivors, the New Zealand Herald reports. The plaintiff's claims alleged the company accessed the Cancer Society of New Zealand's database to cite potential customers and serve them pamphlet ads for products. The tribunal ordered Naturalwear to pay the plaintiff NZD10,000 for using health data beyond the original purpose for its collection.
