A Manhattan woman is suing her two landlords for secretly installing cameras in her apartment to record her most private moments, CBS New York reports. According to a criminal complaint, the tenant discovered a camera inside a digital clock in her bathroom. She then took the USB drive from the camera and found explicit photos of herself as well as images of one of the landlords installing the camera. One civil rights attorney said, “We don’t have an explicit statutory constitutional provision to protect a person’s privacy rights, so you go to the tort provision in the civil law and claim extreme emotional distress.”
