A first-of-its-kind mobile-phone-detection camera has been deployed in New South Wales, the Guardian reports. Powered by artificial intelligence, the cameras are designed to monitor whether a driver is using their mobile device while operating their vehicle. "It’s a system to change the culture," NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Michael Corboy said. Images obtained by the automated system to detect illegal use of a mobile device are verified by authorized personnel.
