Happy autumn from Brussels!

Today marks the official end of summer, but despite temperatures dropping, things are not cooling down at the IAPP.

Next month we have the Data Protection Intensive: Deutschland 2022 in Munich, 11-12 Oct., registration closes 6 Oct.! Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to catch up with your peers, engage with regulators and enjoy some amazing sessions in our parallel English and German track sessions.

November is also around the corner and the Europe Data Protection Congress 2022 main conference is 16-17 Nov. in Brussels. It’s always exciting to close out the year with this great event and hope you can join us for our great keynotes and sessions.

In addition to our educational sessions, there are a number of ways to connect with other attendees at our networking opportunities — roundtable discussions, happy hours, industry meetups and more! Keep an eye on the Networking+ conference page for Congress to see what is planned, more will be added as well.

Conferences are not the only things happening in Europe; our KnowledgeNet Chairs and Young Privacy Professionals have planned more than 120 meetings so far this year, so if you’re looking for some more local events, be sure to check out what is happening near you. Upcoming KnowledgeNet Meetings can be found here.

Speaking of our super awesome Chairs and Young Privacy Pros, it is that time of year where we ask for you, our amazing members, to volunteer for us. Whether you’re looking to join an advisory board, chair a KnowledgeNet chapter or join as a Young Privacy Professional, the time to apply is now! Applications close 30 Sept.

The Call for Proposals for the Data Protection Intensive: France and Data Protection Intensive: Nederland are also open now (but close soon!). If you’re interested in speaking, submit now!

And finally, in case you missed it, we launched Foundations of Privacy and Data Protection last week. We’re really excited for this new training program. Foundations focuses on, as you would expect, the foundational elements of data protection to cultivate data protection knowledge in-house, across multiple teams.

Like I said, temperatures are cooling down, but as always the IAPP is keeping things hot with conferences, KnowledgeNets, Call for Volunteers, Call for Proposals and new products.

We’re looking forward to everything for the rest of 2022 and planning even more great things for you in 2023.

Best,
Scott
