National Information Technology Development Agency Director General Mallam Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi touted the implementation of the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation during a webinar hosted by the Africa Data Protection Conclave. Since the NDPR went into effect less than two years ago, Abdullahi said the NITDA issued 230 compliance and enforcement notices and the only data breach fine in Africa this year. He added the NITDA licensed 70 data protection compliance officers and created 2,686 jobs.
