A new report from Reps. Will Hurd, R-Texas, and Robin Kelly, D-Ill., examines the current state of America’s artificial intelligence ecosystem, provides lessons learned from AI congressional hearings, and offers recommendations for how the government can support and steer AI development, Nextgov reports. The report called for increased funding and to prepare the U.S. workforce for the impending change brought by AI development. The report states, “AI has the potential to disrupt every sector of society in both anticipated and unanticipated ways. In light of that potential for disruption, it’s critical that the federal government address the different challenges posed by AI, including its current and future applications.”
