The U.K.’s proposed Data Protection and Digital Information Bill is facing delays as a new public consultation will launch in the coming weeks, Tech Monitor reports. The bill is planned to replace the EU's General Data Protection Regulation. Department for Culture, Media and Sport Deputy Director for Domestic Data Protection Policy Owen Rowland said the U.K.’s data adequacy agreement with the EU “is at the heart of the approach we are taking going forward,” adding personal data rights will also be a central component of the legislation.
