A hacker was able to access the servers belonging to LifeBridge Health, compromising the personal information of 500,000 patients, The Baltimore Sun reports. A forensic firm found the data breach took place Sept. 27, 2016. The affected information includes patients’ names, addresses, birth dates, insurance information and Social Security numbers, although LifeBridge believes none of the stolen data was used in a malicious manner. “While we have no reason to believe patient information has been misused in any way, out of an abundance of caution, we are notifying potentially affected patients as well as providing resources for those who have questions or concerns,” LifeBridge said in a statement.
