Kenya’s Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology has published and is seeking public comment on the proposed Privacy and Data Protection Bill, Daily Nation reports. The bill outlines the definitions and duties of data processors and controllers, such as data controllers having the obligation to secure citizens’ data by ensuring organizations have the proper measures in place to protect the information from data breaches. The bill also calls for a data commissioner's office to be established in order to define data guidelines for data controllers and processors to follow.
