Italy’s data protection authority, the Garante, released some frequently asked questions on processing personal data during the COVID-19 pandemic. It answers questions on data processing by public and private employers, by schools and in health care, clinical trials and medical research. (Original post is in Italian.) Meanwhile, the Paris metro authority began a test of closed-circuit TV software to monitor whether travelers are wearing face masks, and, in Canada, Saskatchewan Information and Privacy Commissioner Ronald Kruzeniski is questioning how data collected at checkpoints to prevent COVID-19 spread will be handled.
