The Irish Data Protection Commission is examining TikTok's plan to build a $500 million data center in Ireland, The Irish Examiner reports. The Commission said the company must be assessed to determine whether it qualifies for the one-stop-shop under the EU General Data Protection Regulation. "If they don't meet the criteria, what happens is every single data protection authority across the EU is competent to regulate them," said Irish DPC Deputy Commissioner Graham Doyle.
