Vice reports Comcast is attempting to dissuade U.S. lawmakers from drafting legislation that would mandate encryption for web traffic. Comcast and other internet service providers are opposed to such encryption, which Google is rolling out soon and Mozilla is working on, because it masks user browsing histories. Slides of Comcast's presentation to lawmakers were revealed and allegedly depicted how the encryption will adversely change the internet. Mozilla Senior Director of Trust and Safety Marshall Erwin said Comcast's presentation was "extremely misleading and inaccurate."
