Cisco’s 2019 Data Privacy Benchmark Study found that India ranks sixth in terms of readiness for the EU General Data Protection Regulation, TechCircle reports. According to the study, 59 percent of organizations worldwide reported they meet the requirements of the GDPR, while 65 percent of Indian companies claim to do so. It also showed a lower incidence of data breaches among those companies who reported compliance. “This past year, privacy and data protection’s importance has increased dramatically. Data is the new currency, and as the market shifts, we see organizations realizing real business benefits from their investments in protecting their data,” said Cisco Chief Privacy Officer Michelle Dennedy, CIPP/US, CIPM.
