An Illinois resident is suing Google for allegedly collecting children’s biometric identifiers and other personal information, MediaPost reports. The class-action complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, focuses on Google’s educational programs and claims the company violates the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and Illinois' Biometric Information Privacy Act. It states Google did not notify parents of why and for how long their children’s information would be collected, stored and used.
