Today, the IAPP and EY release the fourth annual IAPP-EY Privacy Governance Report, the authoritative look at how the job of privacy is done, with documentation of average budgets, staff sizes, program priorities, and much more. This year, as you might expect, the report focuses on the response to the GDPR, which has turned out to be an impactful piece of regulation, indeed. The average organization expects to spend an average of $3 million building compliance programming and adapting products and services. Maybe it’s no surprise, then, the average privacy team now has 10 full-time staffers. Read the 132-page report for all the numbers, and hear from the report’s creators at 11:45 a.m. today in “Privacy Governance in 2018: A Report on Leading Practices.”
