Hong Kong's Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data served an enforcement notice to the operator of Hong Kong's TE Credit Reference System for insufficient data protection measures. In addition to the action against Hong Kong's largest credit database, the PCPD announced it will conduct compliance sweeps of "security measures adopted by the credit reference agencies in respect of the credit data of borrowers and the retention period of such data."
