The Australian government's defunct Robodebt scheme brought serious questions about the processes behind automated data-matching and associated privacy practices of involved government agencies. Tattarang Privacy Officer and Privacy Counsel Francisco Ruiz Diaz opined the scheme is a case study for "what can go wrong when inadequate frameworks, processes and controls are implemented" and explored how privacy practitioners can approach such instances.
