The U.S. Senate will vote this week on amendments to the House of Representatives–approved Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act reauthorization bill, The Hill reports. The bipartisan bill aims to curtail the National Security Agency’s phone data collection program and ban the collection of GPS and cellphone location data without warrants. Among the potential amendments to be voted on in the Senate is the addition of provisions for a ban on warrantless seizures of internet browsing and search histories by law enforcement.
