TechCrunch reports Facebook filed a lawsuit to a U.S. Superior Court in California against a pair of companies for potential data scraping from user accounts. Facebook claims two companies, BrandTotal and Unimania, deployed browser extensions that unlawfully scooped data from the social network, along with Instagram, Twitter, Amazon, LinkedIn and YouTube. "This case is the latest example of our actions to disrupt and enforce against companies that scrape user data, as well as those who enable them," Facebook said in a public release.
