While the United States and European Union recently secured a new transborder data flow agreement in principle, amid its finalization and anticipated legal challenges, policymakers from the EU, U.S. and United Kingdom are working toward an international agreement via the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, Politico reports. The agreement would establish standards for national security agencies accessing people’s data. Some support the focus while others say an OECD-led agreement should include all types of government access to information.
