The Financial Times reports the European Union is working on legislation to give it increased enforcement authority over large technology companies. European Commissioner for Internal Market Thierry Breton said any proposed rules could also include the possibility of excluding tech companies from the single market. He expects draft legislation to arrive by the end of the year. “There is a feeling from end users of these platforms that they are too big to care,” Breton said. “[Under] certain conditions we may also have the power to impose structural separation.”
