EU policymakers are debating to what extent artificial intelligence models managing critical infrastructure should be covered by requirements of the AI Act, Euractiv reports. The European Council included digital infrastructure, including cloud services and data centers, in the high-risk category list under the proposal intending to prevent "appreciable disruptions in the ordinary conduct of social and economic activities." Critical infrastructure operators are concerned they may not be able to use tools that make systems more efficient and secure.
