The European Data Protection Board offered its contribution to the evaluation of the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Although it has only been in effect for 20 months, “the EDPB takes a positive view of the implementation of the GDPR and is of the opinion that it is premature to revise the legislative text at this point in time.” The EDPB does note, however, that supervisory authorities need more resources to carry out their duties under the GDPR. The board urges EU lawmakers and the European Commission to focus its efforts on the proposed ePrivacy Regulation.
