The European Data Protection Board and European Data Protection Supervisor published their joint opinions on the European Commission's Implementing Decision on standard contractual clauses. The opinions cover the SCCs between controllers and processors and the transfer of data to third countries. The EDPB and EDPS note the SCCs provide enhanced levels of data protection while also offering areas of improvement. The EDPB also adopted guidelines on examples of data breach notifications. Editor's note: IAPP Research Director Caitlin Fennessy, CIPP/US, wrote about the European Commission's draft implementing decision on SCCs for The Privacy Advisor.
