The Dutch data protection authority, Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, is investigating whether social media app TikTok properly safeguards children’s privacy. Vice President Monique Verdier said the AP is investigating whether TikTok is designed in a “privacy-friendly manner” and if the information children receive when installing and using the app is easy to understand and sufficiently explains how their personal data is collected, processed and used.
