In a blog post, Hintze Law outlines proposed changes to the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act Privacy Rule. The proposal would add new rights of access, as well as make changes to information sharing requirements and a notice of privacy practices procedures and content. The proposed modifications propose “to enhance individuals’ right to access their protected health information ... and (require) covered entities to implement corresponding modifications to policies, procedures, and notices of privacy practices,” according to the post.
