Reuters reports the EU’s Digital Services Act, which includes a ban on advertising targeted to children, could serve as an example for similar regulations elsewhere. The DSA also implements fines for digital services that fail to remove illegal content, including child sexual abuse images, from their platforms and prohibits using algorithms to promote harmful content. “The DSA is a landmark legislation, and what you’re going to see is it will also lead to similar legislation in the United States,” Common Sense Media founder Jim Steyer said.
