Politico reports on the concerns over the lack of enforcement since the EU General Data Protection Regulation went into effect. "After nearly one and a half years we must concede that we have a huge problem with the enforcement of cross border processing especially by globally acting companies," a spokesperson for Hamburg's Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information said. Irish Data Protection Commissioner Helen Dixon said current investigations into alleged GDPR violations have been slow to develop due to the complexity of the law. "It's going to take as long as it takes to do it properly," Dixon said.
