Companies may not be prepared to comply with the children’s data protections in India’s proposed Data Protection Bill, Vrinda Bhandari writes for MediaNama. Under the DPB, all companies must verify the age of the child and obtain parental consent before processing the child’s data and are prohibited from behavioral monitoring of children and other processing that can cause harm. The DPB had eliminated previous guardian data fiduciaries provisions for companies making products for children and there is now a single standard for all companies.
