The Colorado Privacy Act will be discussed at a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing May 14 after it was passed through the Colorado Senate Business, Labor & Technology Committee, according to Husch Blackwell's "Byte Back." The committee passed the bill with several amendments, including adjustments to data subject rights and the elimination of opt-in for processing consumers' sensitive data. Meanwhile, the New York Privacy Act has been referred to the State Senate Standing Committee on Consumer Protection.
