France's data protection authority, the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés, published its 2022 to 2024 strategic plan. Despite the CNIL’s efforts, digitization of daily life has increased the deployment of regulators’ technological expertise. In the strategic plan, the CNIL would focus on controlling and respecting the rights of citizens online, promoting the EU General Data Protection Regulation as a tool organizations can use to build trust with consumers, and prioritizing regulatory actions with major privacy stakes.
