France’s data protection authority, the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés, released its 2022-24 strategic plan. The CNIL is focusing on three key themes: encouraging the control and respect of individuals’ rights, promoting the EU General Data Protection Regulation as a trusted asset, and prioritizing targeting "regulatory actions for high-stake privacy issues.” CNIL Chair Marie-Laure Denis said the plan “should enable the CNIL to act in an agile way, alongside citizens, companies, associations and authorities, so as to build a trusted digital society.”
