France's data protection authority, the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés, recommended any service handling health data within the country to avoid American cloud companies and U.S. organizations altogether, TechCrunch reports. The recommendations come as France attempts to build a national health data platform and are in response to the Court of Justice of the European Union's "Schrems II" ruling. France had originally partnered with Microsoft for the project; however, French Digital Minister Cédric O said the project will be moved onto a European platform following the CJEU's decision.
